French Luggage Business Satchel Leather Tapestry

This beautiful Business Satchel (briefcase maybe?) is in very good condition. Who can resist this gorgeous tapestry design with the browns and light oranges? It measures an ample 19" width, 15" height and 4" depth. It has a zippered top and a zippered pocket inside with an attached slot for your post-its or pencils. The front has a pocket as well. The smooth leather is beautifully sewn and there is a seam on the back side. It has small brass feet on the bottom, however there are scuff marks on the leather from use (see photo). This bag will easily hold a laptop and a notepad or portfolio. The 4" depth allows for quite a few folders or even a 3- ring binder. It is truly a statement piece even though it is 0ver 35 years old. Well cared for in a non-smoking home. Here's the history of The French Company found online: Louis Vuitton’s worldwide popularity grew even more rapidly in the 1970s in the United States. Until this time, their factories had always been in France… but Louis Vuitton simply couldn’t keep up with its growing market in the US. For this reason, in the 1970s Louis Vuitton developed a relationship with a US Luggage Maker, the French Luggage Company. During a period from around 1976 through 1991, The French Company manufactured bags under a special license from Louis Vuitton. These items were made here in the US, and were sold here in the US. They were sold in more exclusive department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue & Neiman Marcus.
