I've done all the work for you, breaking in these boots to the baddies photoed. I've hiked in them, used them as motorcycle boots, and basically expected them to be my ride-or-die forever mid-calf boot. Unfortunately, a broken left foot has left me having to wear custom orthotics that just don't fit in these lovlies, and I have to let them go. Official color name is "black", but these are really more of a distressed dark brown. Had a cobbler put the Vibram soles over the standard leather to better withstand wear. 9" shaft height - 13" shaft circumference - 1" heel height - Stacked leather heel These were seriously loved, worn 3 seasons out of four for two years straight. Please see photos for scuffs, etc. All interior leather is also intact. Indentations on the insole are from where I tried to cheat using a smaller orthotic, but I just couldn't make it work.
