Open the door for the elderly. The punishment would be fitting. We new better. You cannot go to the store without hearing the young kids talk back to their parents. Then the tantrum starts. My kids new better. Disrespecting your elders was unheard of when I grew up.

southerngal0724 Oh, I know exactly what you mean about disrespecting ones' elders. I cringe in the stores when I hear the back talk. My mama has those piercing blue eyes that I swore could read into my head, and it would have NEVER occurred to me to be rude to her!! You and I must be about the same age group -- and I miss the "good old days"!

mitzeclipse07 @southerngal0724 So do I . I am 50 years old. I am so glad that my daughter's are 22 & 23. It would be impossible to raise them in today's society. The computer age is great and technology will always increase to benefit the world and the pocket books of the inventor s. I think learning how to do something on your own without "Google."would be beneficial to this generation. Fundamental basics are important & invaluable assets for survival. I must really be showing my age.🙋😀

mitzeclipse07 @southerngal0724 The idea never crossed my mind. My dad had those piercing blue eyes. I rented a car one day and pressed the key fob & it would not start. I called Enterprise & they said put your foot on the break then press the start button on the key fob!

southerngal0724 You and I could become great friends, because I think exactly like you do!! It astounds me to go to some place like McDonald's and they can't even give change in their coin machine is down! Really -- what are they teaching in schools! Oh, I could go on all day with my pet peeves!!! My punishment as a child was to write down words from the dictionary and use them in sentences..... to this day I am an incredible speller (many contests won to prove it) and can write very well. Thanks Mama!

mitzeclipse07 @southerngal0724 I have a funny story to share with you. My daughter and I were shopping in the mall at Deb's. The cashier asked for her email address. The word Sapphire is part of the address. The girl looked puzzled, hit the backspace key & asked if it it was 1 for 2. My daughter told her three times and she continued to hit the backspace key! Finally, my daughter said just forget about signing me up for promotion's.
