It is hard to call the color brown because it does have a green tint to the color. The purse is 12 inches in height and is genuine leather. The purse is brand new, I've never used it and it still has the protective plastic and paper on the handles etc. It also comes with it's storage bag which it's been in since I got it. This is a good size purse that has 1 zipper and two storage pouches inside as well as an area outside the purse for storing items.
