@annieblake512 hello, thank you for your interest in my item. This item is 98% cotton and 2% spandex, so it does not have a lot of stretch to it. All of my items that are not heavily soiled or stained and are clean and dry when I get them are not washed so I always put "may need light" cleaning in the description. This item is not soiled or stained in any way but before first use I would suggest a wash. Hope that helps. Have a great day.
