Gaelyn Cianfarani Nylon/ Rubber Corset lace-up Dress Y2K Couture Gaultier

ONE OF A KIND! Runway Couture Vintage Y2K black rubber and nylon Dress/ Corset with Skirt outfit in shades of blue. Long lace-up skirt and lace up top by Gaelyn and Cianfarani. AMAZING AND ENTIRELY UNIQUE ITEM! Skirt features recycled rubber waistband and area down the back for lacing. Skirt is shades of blue, nylon parachute material with areas of lattice-like weaving. Measures 28" waist, but adjustable, 43" length. Top is also made of black recycled leather and shades of blue nylon. Jump style corset lacing all the way up the back and half way up the front. Lace ties are also recycled nylon. Sleeves have nylon strip embellishment. I've written Pre-owned, but I don't know if it has ever been worn, other than on the runway... I am just writing that to be safe. The condition is as it was made-- which is as you see in the photos... Gaelyn and Cianfarani designed at the HEIGHT of the Y2K period and closed in 2006-- which makes their work that much more valuable and RARE. They had huge and well attended runway shows and lots of press. They were among the first to show latex as everyday wear for everyone, everywhere. They were the first to use recycled bike inner tubes for clothing. Their designs on the runway were copied by many designers, including Jean Paul Gaultier. And their influence in his work is obvious and dazzling....
