This is a genuine vintage historical Japanese China Incident War Medal of Honor - Created Enacted July 27, 1939, to commemorate the 1937-1945 campaign of the more than decade long war with China. Believed to be made of bronze, this medal has a diameter of approximately 30.5 mm (1.2 inches). The entire medal measures approximately 3 1/4" long x 1 1/2" wide. The medal front (obverse) depicts a giant red crow that supposedly guided the army of the first emperor, Jimmu, through the mountains. Below the crow are the Rising Sun flags and above it is the Imperial Chrysanthemum. The reverse side has mountains on top, water on the bottom, and what seem to be stylized clouds in the middle. The four characters read "China Incident". The ribbon is watered silk and is very colorful with purple, blue, yellow, peach and red stripes. A "U" hasp is solidly attached on the back. The medal was abolished in 1946. This medal is approximately 85 Years Old. Comes with original box that has the text "China Incident War Medal on the top. Box is in Fair condition with ends missing their additional support (see photos). The medal itself is in Excellent pre-owned condition. A Great historical item / gift for any history buff.
