Genuine Walberg evening bag Vintage Walborg Beaded Shoulder Bag Clutch Purse

A beautiful Hilde Walborg hand beaded evening bag purse from the 1960s. Elegant with thick bead work; the body of the black beaded bag is softly gathered under a smooth ‘waist’ band. The ‘waist band’ is beaded in a pattern of peacock blue, green, burgundy and gold glass beads. Opens with a full-length zipper at the top to black silk satin lining. There is a zippered pocket Stitched in label reads, “Walborg – MADE IN KOREA”. The bag has a gold tone serpentine chain shoulder strap that can be removed and tucked inside for conversion to a clutch. Designed by Hilde Walborg and hand made in the 1960s. Measures 9 inches wide by 6 inches high. Serpentine strap has an 18 inch drop. The bag is in beautiful condition. All original beading is intact and secure. Lining shows no wear or shattering. Simply lovely. Hilde Walborg founded the Walborg Corp in the early 1940's in New York City. She was known for her beautifully designed and finely crafted imported and beaded cocktail evening bags. Walborg created all of the designs for her beaded bags. They were made in Belgium, Italy and France in the 1940's and 1950's. In the early 1960's she began having beadwork done in Japan and Koreathis is an especially beautiful bag Walborg has long held unrivaled title for her exquisitely beaded purses.
