George Allette 'real housewife/trophy wife' beaded silk jersey asymmetrical gown

From the 1980s -- that great, glamorous era of showy gowns in shimmering fabrics, puff-ball-skirt party frocks, and drama! This is a George Allette made in Hong Kong crimson-red model, with a striking asymmetrical skirt in what feels like silk jersey, brilliantly draped like something from the Paris atelier of the queen of draping, Madame Gres.On one side, the skirt length is 34 inches; on the other, a floor-length 56 inches. Measured at its fullest, the opening for the legs is 24 inches wide. The zip-up sleeve is 24 inches, the padded shoulder is about 16 inches, the pit to pit measurement is 19 inches, and the waist measurement is about 18 inches. There are thousand of shimmering silver bugle beads stitched in rows across this dress and they catch the light beautifully when you move. Only a very few of them are missing -- perhaps a dozen? at the edge of the cuffs. The dress is lined, and while the skirt moves bewitchingly, the beaded top makes the dress heavy.
