Georges Bizet His life and works by D C Parker 1st edition
Published 1926
This book is a great addition to anyone’s book collection and is great vintage/antique shape.
Blue hardcover
Georges Bizet (25 October 1838 – 3 June 1875), né Alexandre César Léopold Bizet, was a French composer of the Romantic era. Best known for his operas in a career cut short by his early death, Bizet achieved few successes before his final work, Carmen, which has become one of the most popular and frequently performed works in the entire opera repertoire.
Google this song (Carmen -Habanera) I am certain that you will have heard it.
Georges Bizet died almost 50 years before the first commercial use of sound-on-film yet has over 250 television and film credits to his name, mostly from his blockbuster swan song. Habanera was used by the Marx Brothers all the way back in 1929, and since then Carmen has popped up everywhere from The AristoCats, Trainspotting and Magnolia to Lost, Six Feet Under, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and of course, the apogee of lampoonery, The Simpsons.
