German Stoneware Mini Wine Pitcher Cobalt Blue/Gray .25 Liter

Rare find: Hard to come by a vintage German made stamped on the bottom wine jug in cobalt blue and gray with a very nicely decorated design of grapes and grape leaves, with the saying in French "Le Vin Dissipe La Tristesse" Meaning "Wine Dissipate The Sadness" The top near the handle is stamped .25 liters. Also stamped on the bottom are numbers. 2956. This unique piece is made of glaze ceramic stoneware. Probably approximately after the Second World War. Interesting fact, the saying on this mini pitcher is from Act 2 of the French opera Hamlet by Ambrose Thomas. This piece being made in Germany was most likely manufactured by Marzi and Remy. Measures 5 inches high, 3 inches wide in excellent condition. Ready to be used again as a oil jug wine pitcher or water jug. Great conversation piece. Non smoking pet free home.
