With all due respect @manish - Live shows are killing this platform!! It’s turning PM into a garage sale site and I can’t afford to sell my items at $3 a pop. My items are worth more than that! It’s killing the parties which used to be the livelihood of this site! Now everyone expects me to give extreme discounts and with the shipping cost increase, it’s harder than ever! Hi, My Plus Size clothing isn't showing up as eligible for the Big, Tall & Plus Size Party going on right now. This has happened once or twice before, even though I have about a half dozen eligible Plus Size items. I sent Customer Support a message, but got an auto reply that said it could take up to 24 hrs for assistance. Can you do anything to help? Thanks!

I'm new to poshmark, I decided it was time to go through my own personal closet.
I can't figure out how to do a live show or share my items in other shows. Someone mentioned going to the tray and signing up. When I went to the tray of items I saw no place to sign up.
I Hate to keep asking the sweet girls who have tried to help me but, I don't understand what I've read online. If anyone who has been on Posh awhile can help that would be greatly appreciated 🤗

Hi! I see you posted something for the Big Tall & Plus Posh Party tomorrow. Why are the guidelines limited to Big & Tall (not Plus?). This keeps happening. I have a sizable closet of Plus Size items and I find it very frustrating when Plus sizes cannot be shared to a themed party that should include them. Can you help correct this oversight? @epictrends I just noticed that sellers were having like $3/$5/$8 dollar auction days. When I wrote the comment I didn’t know that we couldn’t come onto other seller’s shows and add our own items to auction (which by the way- the reason you can’t show your face or voice is because there’s no split-screen option on PM yet).

Just got my access to finally do my on live, but have not yet (I’m very shy, neurotypical & struggle w anxiety). I’ve thought about just writing a post (& still might). There are about 20 people who are “on top” and fit the “aesthetic” and all the rest of us are desperately trying to keep up w the algorithm. Lives have completely changed the entire platform. Luxury bags, tees (& anything luxury) seem to be the most popular. Mystery boxes, putting on a “show” of any kind, games: people love that.

But, not all of us can do that & it takes an incredible amount of work, time, *ability* (if you are chronically ill/anxious/struggle w social skills at times like me and many others here- not so much), and an extrovert, that’s great! I have an incredible amount of inventory to sell and I need to sell it, however: lives have changed the way people view pricing now. I’ve noticed an expectation that prices will be low (since we have $3-$8 starts).

Those are (theoretically) fine if you have 300 bidders in a room (who are actually bidding), but not if you have 10-20 & no one is bidding. I still wonder how much profit those sellers are actually making though. Sales in my closet have gone down and buyers are now expecting huge discounts as if they were in a live, all the time.

The positives I’ve noticed is the community building and the way Poshers are supporting each other. Following, buying from each other and being fair, shouting each other out, the creativity is amazing! The negatives: bullying, harassment, r*cism, s*xism, cancelling orders (altho this is a double edge sword- it is WAY too easy to accidentally hit the auction button- this is a design flaw that needs to be addressed, and problems with payments not going through.

I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to handle all of this tbh! I want to be a successful seller and this is a curveball I wasn’t expecting. Silent auctions don’t seem to be successful at all and having the energy, equipment, space and emotional/mental/physical capacity to do lives- may be too much. So does that mean I won’t be successful here? I’m just wondering why PM is putting all of their eggs in the Live basket.

It just seems like it’s leaving a lot of us behind- especially those of us who aren’t extremely social/have social anxieties, aren’t necessarily good at dealing with people on camera under pressure or don’t want to/can’t go on camera. @erinmevans I don’t disagree with your frustrations. A few positive things I have found that I think may help you (hopefully) - live shows have brought more exposure and traction to my closet. Don’t start at $3 (ever imo - that’s 5cents to seller…why) but don’t start low if you can’t at all.

Price accordingly as you would sell in your closet (but maybe start at your lowest since you don’t have to spend time listing etc.) My lives haven’t gotten the most views but people buy quality items and return, and return to my closet after. The hype shows with 300+ viewers bidding $100s of dollars on mystery boxes is a trashy scam that should be shut down in my opinion bc it’s unethical sales. Cultivate an environment where people get good deals for great items. That’s where I want to shop.

They are getting harder to spot too… Started their closets a couple years ago, looks like they had lots of sales, but upon further inspection they all have the same items and little to no reviews. Luxury purses of course. Lots of followers and following a ton of people, so it looks legit. But similar fake profile pics off the internet. Ugh 😒

Just to ignore or block people if things get weird. It doesn’t really address the underlying issue of social anxiety or the deeper issue of PM putting all of their eggs in the Live basket.

have you guys ever thought of better categorizing the events? like narrow them down a bit to make them more shoppable and easier to sell things? it’s overwhelming on both ends to have 10000 people sell at once. would you be comfortable walking into a store and having 10000 sales people throwing everything at you at once? how would you see everything? for example a best in boutiques: pants and skirts would be super helpful to shoppers.

@michellems4 hi! if you use your closet filters (button in your closet, bottom right of the banner, it looks like a funnel) you can filter by category; then use the bulk share tool to select all and share. Do this for each category and you’ll get it sorted very quickly. I like to filter by category and color then go down the rainbow, myself. I only sell in a couple categories so its worth the extra time to me 🥰 have fun!

@pink8959 hi! fyi poshmark is both a buying/selling, and a social app. It automatically follows you to x amount of people every few months. People who sell here follow more to rank up to posh ambassadors level one and level two, which have perks for sellers. I follow people who might want to buy from me, usually folks who have likes in brands or categories I sell in, like Mac cosmetics or shipping supplies. It’s not personal it’s just to get perks ftom the app for the most part. :)

@gmaslvs I’m aware. I came onto Poshmark in 2017 (a year after you). I have changed my mind a bit since I wrote these statements. It’s not all bad, but there are some drawbacks. PM is working through kinks as they roll out this new feature (understandably). There are still accounts that try to sell fakes. There is still harassment and bullying on lives.

@gmaslvs $3 starts is still pulling down sales on the regular platform because there is an expectation now that buyers expect sellers to sell items for 80-90% off *all the time* (like in live shows). That was my main point. It has also pulled people away from parties. It isn’t about not liking PM; at least not for me (I can’t speak for others). And it’s okay for PM to take feedback, as well. It’s how they grow as a company.

I think it’s also good for PM to hear feedback - whether it be helpful or critical - about this new feature. It will only improve it. Wanting the experience here to be better for both buyers and sellers is the goal. 💖

I’m not here to spend money I’m here to make money with inflation at a 40 year high!!! I just don’t understand why I continue to get these recommendations when I don’t want them. Terrible marketing and not a good way to keep customers!! Hire a new editor please!!

@roxierooo I could not agree more this infuriates me to no end. The notices I get for the live auctions in which I have 0 interest in, fill my feed and make it a chore to scroll through! I have missed a probable sale by not seeing a question from a customer tucked in between the dozens of live auction notifications i get every hour!!

@roxierooo I like off3rup and M as well, although most of my sales are from poshmark. Have you tried using the filters to sort notifications? That’s what I do, just check comments and orders and bundles, not the main feed, and I never see anything from poshmark unless I want to using this method. Love selling on here, it’s so simple. You are free to dislike it but it doesn’t bother me using the technique above, figured would share. Have a great night!

While it was an accidental purchase (I swiped up to exit this the seller sends 20+ notification &has daily shows.the seller said she would fix it,I sent a reminder before the show was over& she sent it anyway. It wasn’t the color listed and there was gross ick on the lining. I disputed sent pix & posh sided with her. I now have a fake bag I paid $97 & I can’t reposh it’s fake &gross.This really discouraged me and almost made me quit.

I sell real sunglasses off Macy/Nordstrom pallets and have never charged more than 150 for them most are much less so I agree it’s frustrating that people are getting away with selling fake stuff I just ended up with a fake coach I accidentally purchased and posh let the seller get away with it. @erinmevans I’m inherently shy as well so doing a live would cause me a great deal of anxiety as well. It seems like Poshmark is favoring those who do tons of shows and some get away with anything they want including selling fakes.

@erinmevans I agree. I’ve made too many accidental purI didn’t even realized. I can be working in another app get a notification accidentally tap and get thrown into a show swipe up because that how I’m used to exiting with my iPhone and I end up purchasing something I don’t want and can’t sell. I’ve written to posh several times about it but I don’t see any changes. Perhaps they’re leaving it this way on purpose?????

I don’t have that type of personality where I would be “on” or a “salesperson” on camera and I don’t want to hurt myself or my closet/shoot myself in the foot- if that makes sense? Also if drama happens on camera too and it’s not handled appropriately it can really lead to some negative things… all of it just kind of intimidates me, tbh. So I agree, PM is catering to the extrovert when it comes to live shows- especially now- putting all the eggs into that basket.

I’ve found some shows I really enjoy; that are positive and uplifting and I definitely want to support the people because they are making PM a better place. It definitely takes discernment. I’m sorry to hear about your experience with fakes- because that still is a definite issue here. I still sometimes am fooled. The “luxury” market particularly is tricky.

@zinfelmax210 It is *way* too easy to make an accidental purchase- and that has happened to me too. When I was switched from one show and dropped into another. It is not cool. The auction button is in a terrible location. It was addressed in the last live show Poshmark had. Changes like that (coding-wise; and to the app) are pretty large- so it probably will take some time for them to address. But I absolutely agree with you!

I’ve had about half of listings flagged/removed and now I’m being threatened with a ban. I don’t know why this keeps happening, but it’s very disheartening. Now, I am afraid to use poshmark to list my authentic bags because I guess I could get banned for using the platform as it’s intended to be used.

@oui_merci ⚠️ I've gotten as many as 13 spam notices from Poshmark in 12 hrs, which clogs my inbox box making me miss sales. I've blocked them, reported them & repeatedly emailed them, but they say they refuse to quit despite knowing we don't want them & that they inhibits us and them from making money. It literally makes no sense.
I continue to report them & haven't listed anything else or bought anything since. And I won't until they stop.

⚠️ I refuse to do all this work only to let them profit beyond what is fair anyway & basically pay them to annoy me. I'm planning a huge yard sale & then I'm getting off this platform completely. I'd rather donate my stuff than get harassed like this & have Poshmark tell me they literally don't care that these notifications are interfering with business & offend us tremendously.

@erinmevans The whole reason I started doing this was in part because I didn't have to be in front of people I have extreme stage fright. If I don't do a show my sale are terrible if I do do a show they are better but now everyone expects steak for baloney price's
