They have been tumbled across the desert sands of Mongolia, polished and pigmented by the incredibly strong winds there for 220 million years.

elaynascott @suzisavage yes. I drilled it with a diamond bit and wrapped it with copper myself. It is a Gobi agate.

suzisavage @elaynascott nice! I’m trying to get the courage to do that on Seaglass, but I’m afraid I’ll mess it up. I have a Dremel and diamond bits. One of these days. I really like both of these but my finances are a little funky right now

elaynascott @suzisavage the trick with drilling glass is to not start the diamond bit directly on the glass. Start it at an angle (45 degrees) and then rotate it straight upwards. That way it won’t chip the outer edge. 😁 and let the drill do the work. Keep it under water the entire time and just use the pressure of the drill. Don’t push it.

suzisavage @elaynascott I just saw this thank you so much. I was trying to get something that would hold the Dremel steady but you can do it by hand? I have a pretty girly Dremel I hope it works.
