Lovely and unique Vintage Filigree Gondola Brooch
Spanish Filigree Pin. Filigree is a delicate jewelry technique made from silver or golden threads.
Kind of metalwork lace "embroidering" that is specific to Spain.
Measures:
2 1/8" W
Almost 3/4" L
Lovely & dainty vintage brooch with fantastic details.
Nice condition with only some slight patina here and there.
May need additional cleaning and or polishing.
Would make a wonderful vintage jewelry gift for her.
Stamped/marked 800. 800 silver is an alloy of silver that is 800 parts silver and 200 parts other metals.
It is also referred to as International Coin Silver.
This alloy was common in the 19th and early 20th centuries on the European mainland but was not used in jewelry in the United States.

It is a souvenir pin from Venice Italy. They are commonly purchased from visitors much like the ashtrays you see around.

Perhaps you are referring to the Moors of Spain, in which Venetians have a deep history with along with Constantinople.
