Gorgeous Long Oval Turritella Cabochon!!

It's hard to post something as new when it's actually 50 million years old, but like all gems and minerals I'm selling, it's never been worn!! Of all the Agates and Jaspers, Turritella might be my favorite. The "spots" on the stone are fossilized snails that died and sank into the sediment of the Green River formation of Wyoming. The snails were so prolific that entire slabs of this sediment are literally covered in these fossils. Of course, no two are alike. I have collected several of these because I love them, but they are re-fossilizing in my drawer, so I'm going to release them and let them come up for some air :-) !! This one is a long oval shape measuring 43 X 18.5 X 7 mm, and it weighs 48.8 carats!
