Auto or quartz?
mweatonesq1
@maddie0598 It is an excellent automatic self-winding Swiss movement.

@maddie0598 See the Mfgr. link for more info about these amazing timepieces: https://www.fortis-swiss.com/company-history/

@maddie0598 btw, quartz watches didn't exist when this watch was manufactured in the 1950's.

@mweatonesq1 very cool! How large is the case?
mweatonesq1
@maddie0598 It's pretty standard for the era. Approx. 40mm exclusive of the crown. These days, it would be called "midsized" or "unisex". A very beautiful and excellent timepiece. Would look great on a man or a woman!

@mweatonesq1 great! Any idea the ref. Number or year of mfg?
mweatonesq1
@maddie0598 I opened it up and added a couple photos. I find no serial or reference number, but it is double signed, and from the appearance of the movement, I am guessing somewhere in the early 1950's. I've had it a bit, and it is probably due for a cleaning. I try to get all my vintage watches cleaned every couple of years. Hope this helps!

@mweatonesq1 that’s awesome! Weird question for you- are there any other watches in your collection you want to part with? I want to make a bundle but am not super interested in anything else on your page haha
Thanks!

@maddie0598 I have a few other watches not listed. Let me see what I can get listed here later today. I have an Omega Constellation quartz which I hadn't planned on selling, but I could, and an early 1950's Breitling manual on a strap that needs some reconditioning I havent gotten done because my regular shop has been closed during the pandemic.
maddie0598
@mweatonesq1 if the brietling is authentic I could be interested!
mweatonesq1
@maddie0598 It's definitely authentic, but in fairly rough coneition. the watch version of a barn find at an estate sale I picked up a couple years ago.

claudiuloko
which one is the movement? you posted one watch and 4 different movements.
mweatonesq1
@claudiuloko The first one - the others were in response to a question about comparable movements. I have deleted the other photos.
