Designed in 1897 by William C. Codman (US patent 27,588, 8/31/1897). Repoussesd with the symbols of St Augustine as seen in the late 1800s. The handle shows the Old City Gates of St. Augustine (built in 1808) on one side with the Spanish coat of arms on the other. The end is decorated with Orange blossoms, Leaves and Fruit
Greenleaf & Crosby Co was founded in 1868. It has been a fixture on Worth Avenue since the 1920s. They have the longest tenure in Palm Beach of any Jewelry Establishment. It still has its original Art Deco Facade.
This pattern has been used in a limited number of Flatware Pieces including an orange peeler, fruit knife (similar, with serrated blade), and letter opener which were produced for Gorham.
