Bequet Quaregnon pitcher vase is a stunning piece of vintage art. The vase is hand painted in black and gold, with a detailed floral pattern. The vase is 10.5" tall and is in excellent condition. I purchased it from an estate sale. Condition: In beautiful condition with only two small flaws: -- Small pit mark on back of pitcher under spout -- Slight imperfections in gold trim on base ------ About the artist - Hubert Bequet: Hubert Bequet was a Belgian ceramicist who was born in 1898 and died in 1982. He was known for his hand-painted vases, pitchers, and other decorative objects. His work is characterized by its use of bright colors, intricate patterns and stylized floral motifs. Bequet began his career as a painter but he turned to ceramics in the early 1920s. He opened his own pottery factory in Quaregnon, Belgium in 1934. His work was initially inspired by Art Deco, but he later developed his own unique style.
