H. Fred Skaggs Blue Moonstone Sterling Silver Ring Size 5

This blue & clear multi-shape/heights signed moonstone biomorphic design sterling ring in size 5 was created by Modernist Master Designer, H. Fred Skagg, a world-fam Southwest jewelry maker. It is stampd "FRED SKAGGS STERLING HANDMADE" on the back. Has signs of wear & patina but can be polished if you message me. Acid test confirms 925 purity. The ring is a modernist piece, but, one could argue it is also an example of Process Art with the biomorphic arrangement of the sterling by Skaggs. Similar to Process Art Artist, Lydia Benglis's "Quartered Meteor" art at the Tate Museum of Modern Art. Benglis's work has been described as, "heavy nature of the lead is at odds with the foam’s amorphous shape, recalling the appearance of cooled lava." Both Skagg's silver & Benglis's lead have this amorphous presence. An ephemeral shape is now static cool lava & there lies the beauty. Skaggs, made such creations as this unique ring during the 1950s-60s, which parallel the Process Art Movement.
