Vintage 1940's Monmouth pottery cookie jar. This vintage cookie jar features an artistic Native American raised relief pattern with a gingerbread brown color and a high gloss finish. This vintage lidded cookie jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing and measures 5 inches high and 55 inches in diameter. Monmouth Pottery began operations in 1894 and was located in Monmouth, Ill. They mostly produced useful household items such as butter churns, crocks and jars. The company grew and expanded its line of wares into a consortium with six other midwestern companies known as Wester Stoneware.
