shoemakerr @tpwhit273 Hi! Yes there is a “hole” but it’s not a drain hole because it doesn’t go through. It’s just something that appears while that part of the shoe is being made. A few years back I asked customer service about it and that’s what I was told. The fake ones usually don’t have the “hole” but I wouldn’t be surprised if some newer ones would copy it 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

yaya825 This post has gotten me super nervous to buy another pair of Rothy's second hand. :-( I purchased Chili red points not too long ago. Looks super legit compared to my exact same pair i was replacing to upsize. Only difference is the color of the moleskin at the heel. Is it always the same color for all the same color shoes? The newer pair has now white moleskin. I just tagged you in another listing. I don't want to make a mistake. Please advise.

shoemakerr @abertagnolli Hi! That particular color combination was never made by Rothy’s in the Points style, only in Flats style (rounded toe) , so that’s a dead giveaway that they are fake. There also the sticks, real Rothy’s prior to cardboard forms always used blue sticks. And the white labels under the insoles will also show that they’re fake.

It worked for a lot of people. you’ll have to provide your your bank with some information and they’re usually refund your money. These companies that sell counterfeit stuff just make sooo mad

sharonkl2016 I have a pair of Rothys points that are red camo. I ordered a size 10 but they fit like an 8.5. Everything you showed points to an authentic pair other than the size fit. The only thing I can tell that might point to a fake pair is the label. It looks good but it is peeling off. Is there a way I can send you pictures? congosc Hi! Is it possible that some fakes say "Made in China" on the label? There is a listing that just went up where the shape of the toe looks waaay off to me, but it has the blue sticks (which I also thought sometimes came with fakes?) and the tags say China.

shoemakerr @congosc hi. Yes some fakes say Made in China. That’s why you have to really look very closely because there’s many different fakes out there. I can certainly spot a fake before I even look at the labels. The shape of the shoe ,the color or the print is wrong, the soles, the insoles, the Rothy’s logo, the font on the labels, the shape of insoles, cheap dust bags, its all needs be considered.

shoemakerr @congosc Yeah, Rothy’s keep on changing little things on their production of their shoes. When they came out with the Moroccan group, they had size# right on the outer soles, like the earlier Flats, but I haven’t seen any fakes with size# branded into outer soles. 2 1/2 years ago Rothy’s changed the color of inside from black to neon green and I haven’t seen any fake ones with green inside.

shoemakerr @lisarmarshall To be honest I don’t pay attention to that particular part of Rothy’s labels any more because it doesn’t match other brand’s European sizes. Besides every brand have their own idea of the same size. It surely doesn’t make sense but that’s how it is. Like in Birkenstock’s I couldn’t go any bigger than 37, in Manolo Blahnik I need 38, in Dr.Martens I’m 37 and in Rothy’s I’m 7.5-8 which is 38-38.5

In regards to counterfeit , their labels are really all over the place because it’s different factories producing shoes that look like Rothy’s, close enough to fool a lot of people

shoemakerr @scalhoun_05 Hi there! If your round toe Flats have a size, sort of branded right into the outer soles, is a good indicator that they are authentic. Rothy’s mostly did that with their Flats(round toe), Loafers, sneakers, Chelseas but not the Points. There many other things to look for to make sure you bought authentic Rothy’s if you didn’t buy directly from Rothy’s..If you’re not sure, you can always tag me under a pair in question and I will be happy to authenticate for you

Unfortunately there have been many sites on social media pretending to be Rothy’s website but if you look closely their actual name was not Rothy’s, but many people not familiar with the brand bought fakes from those websites and these fakes are still floating around being sold and bought by unsuspecting buyers. Most of these fake are easy to spot tho

I’m 7-7.5 street size, but in Maritime navy and Chili Red points I had to size up to 8.5 because those colors run really small

shoemakerr @islandgrl19_17 I just looked the second pair where the seller added photos of actual shoes. They’re definitely real, but I’m not certain they’re Maritime navy which is super dark. These might be Cobalt blue, which is lighter navy. I don’t know if it matters to you, some ppl look for specific colors. The good news is that they’re real Rothy’s 👍🏻👍🏻

shoemakerr @islandgrl19_17 about the sizing, Rothy’s tend to tighten up over time, so if they’re snug now when they’re new, they will only get tighter. I keep all my Rothy’s with shoe trees, that way they don’t tighten up.

shoemakerr @dalemacaz oh I think you’ll love them, but may I suggest you buy your first pair directly from Rothy’s because their sizing is really wonky!!🤪 most people size up if you have wide feet. I personally have regular width foot and only size up .5-1 size up. Rothy’s have free returns/exchanges so you have nothing to loose by buying directly from Rothy’s. shoemakerr @jamielynn8258 Hi there! It’s true it’s hard to tell the fakes from real sometimes, especially when sellers don’t provide clear pictures of what they’re selling. There are also different navy blues that were released at different times. The ones with blue outer soles were called Cobalt Blue and only made in Points, then they had Dark Navy Flats with bright blue outer soles and the the Maritime Navy Points and Flats came out with black outer soles.

Sometimes I tell sellers that their items are fake and if they’re nice people, they remove the listing, but some sellers go after me and use horrible language right on my listings 🤷🏼‍♀️

breece_family03 This was soooo helpful!!! I found a pair at Platos…just got excited because it was my first pair. They are like new so I got super excited!! Anyway. They had the made in China inside. But all the other parts your pointed out where there. My first suspicion was the red and white stripe down the back then connected letters when I started looking up comps. So frustrating. Maybe I can take them back to a different Platos 😉😉

shoemakerr @tn_leehg Early on Rothy’s were pretty good at sending shoes that you actually ordered, but in the last couple of years I’ve heard some horror stories of people receiving wrong style shoes, empty boxes, wrong size, two different sizes, and even counterfeit shoes 🫣 directly from Rothy’s, but all of that happened through the Archive Sale. In my opinion it’s must’ve been unchecked returns or such.

saavedia Hi, I don’t know if this is relevant, since it has to do with a Rothy’s Mini Handbag. I purchased it from the Rothys.com website, and it came with a canvas dust bag as well as a mesh wash bag. I honestly can’t remember, but I have a larger canvas bag that may have come with an older vanity set. I have 1 pair of flats, 1 pair of points, and 5 pairs of sneakers. I have never owned the merinos, though.

In every pair except one, I am missing the inner memory foam insert under the fabric Rothy’s insert that can be ordered. I was shocked but realized why I have been getting blisters on my left heel from my sneakers. Do you know if those under-inserts can be ordered?

shoemakerr @dalemacaz I agree. Usually people who simply didn’t know are very appreciative when you tell them and delete their listing, considering it’s not allowed to sell counterfeit on posh. But some sellers know they’re selling fakes and will lash out at any one who tells them , they also remove any comments saying they’re selling fakes. I just feel bad for the buyers who unknowingly buy those fakes for the price of real Rothy’s:(

shoemakerr @dalemacaz Yes, besides the labels saying Made in USA, the stitching is black in those, but it should be royal blue. The shoes are slightly different shape and the knit is also a bit off. The black inside of the shoes is slightly wider and smoother than in real Rothy’s

edpinson I ordered a pair of Rothy’s prior to seeing this post or really even realizing how many fakes there are. I noticed there are zero labels under the insoles of the shoes. Did Rothy ever make points without labels? These are in great condition so it’s not like the label was worn off or washed off. The seller claims they’re authentic but I have doubts. Pretty much everything else looks legit, but there being zero labels is telling me otherwise. Any help would be appreciated!

shoemakerr @abzbee21 Hi. A lot of women do wear men’s drivers. They’re definitely bigger/roomier in the same size(as any men’s shoes would be) I would say men’s fit is about size and a half or so larger

I always suggest that you should buy from Rothy’s first if you don’t know the size that would fit the best( because you can always return to Rothy’s) but it you get them here, especially used pair, not knowing how they were washed or stored, and you can’t return on posh for fit issues.
