@kayleendarrow it’s actually currently a size 7 3/4.. that’s only a little more than one size down however the diamonds go really far down the sides on both sides of the ring.... I can’t say with 100% confidence that it could be done bc if the construction of the ring. I’ll try to take it to a bench jeweler and ask.

@kayleendarrow jeweler said it can be done but advised might be best to make bottom into a euro square shank to get down to that size. The ring is thick on the bottom plus the diamonds extend way far down the sides so his idea makes sense. Sorry I really don’t have much room bc of the fees they take.

@cottentail it only says treated color, doesn’t specify. It does have a card that says to inform jeweler that Diamond is treated and so they should use a heat shield to protect the Diamond when working on the ring. I was in jewelry for years and most black diamonds are an I in clarity bc the color treatment makes it so black you can’t see anything in the Diamond. It’s a beautiful black Diamond though.. I would consider an offer fir just the center stone if that’s what you’re after..

@cottentail I do not have the appraisal- that was by word of mouth from the owner who doesn’t have it anywhere they looked. I’ve been in jewelry for years and I am Diamond Council of America Certified... That amount seems logical. I’ll see how much it would be to get a new appraisal, and or even get a second jeweler to look at it. I’ll let you know thanks!

@cottentail it is not a Le Vian piece... it was a custom piece created at Jared’s by combining two different mounting styles (so you won’t come across it anywhere)

@cottentail back diamonds like regular diamonds da get their value from the 4cs, clarity cut color and carat. Natural black diamonds can be thousands of dollars per carat bc they’re not enhanced however a true natural Diamond isn’t going to appear black throughout...black diamonds that are enhanced are lower clarity and then enhanced usually thru heat to get the rich black color throughout the Diamond. The price goes up as the carat weight goes up...

This Diamond was n the I1-I2 range before it was enhanced- so taking that into consideration a 2carat Diamond d not enhanced even at a clarity of I1-I2 will still be a couple thousand easily. As with everything in life it’s worth what the buyer is willing to pay lol. I’ll see if I can get you a 2nd verbal appraisal at least. If you search online there’s info about black diamonds

And especially with having no G.I.
