thefunkyroyals Hello! I never usually comment about this stuff but thought you’d want to know some dumb KAREN reported this listing to Posh as being offensive. I’m doing a “Help Keep Posh in Tip Top Shape” review thing & this popped up. Totally completely ridiculous! This whole cancel these types of items is 1 of the most stupid asinine things ever. People have lost their damn minds. Sad that this idiot had to bring their crazy onto Posh too. Sorry someone did this, it’s very wrong.

darkntwisty @theroyalfunkies 🤦🏼‍♀️ People don’t even know what’s in the book. There’s 2 caricatures about an Asian man in a parade, and an Eskimo. That’s it. Just a depiction of a child’s imagination. No negative comments at all. These things are written decades and decades and decades ago.

So he makes up a tall tale to tell his Dad, about a parade of a variety of folk and animals. His dad scolds him a tad about exaggerating so he decides not to tell his dad about it.

I had these books growing up as a little girl & never once did it even cross my mind that the characters, what they were doing or saying had anything to do w/something other than just them being cartoon character animals! Totally not ok. You did nothing wrong. People need to learn to mind there own business. This was 1 of the most stupid, ridiculous things I’ve ever seen flagged. darkntwisty @theroyalfunkies I have added 2 photos from the 3 books/stories I have. Now do those look offensive to use?! I guess I come from a simpler time when we didn’t hone negative filters to look thru or tattle on the neighbors because one may have given you a side eye! Well, hopefully enough people click not offensive. Too bad there isn’t a gimme a break button. If people choose not to print it, fine, but those that have them should be able to do what they want to with them, such as sell.

Until Posh changes the rules or says this is an off limits item, you can list whatever you want as long as it’s w/in the TOS here which right now this very much is allowed.. I know it’s frustrating but since you’ve done nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about. The reason I said you should re list these is so you have a new listing starting fresh, that it’s not tied to the reporting system & so nobody sees all these comments.

It happens all the time to sellers who’ve done nothing wrong & broke no rules. I see new sellers who think because they’re an Ambassador that it somehow gives them the right to be the Posh Karen police & they think the msg’s Posh sends to everyone about rating the listings that have been reported, is a personal email to just them, that Posh is asking them specifically to help them🤣

darkntwisty @theroyalfunkies one lady claimed a box was crushed, item was wet, wrapping was horrible, poor quality item...when my video shows it was a hard box, wasn’t going to get crushed, it was SEALED IN PLASTIC, so item could have never got wet, wrapped in designer tissue that’s about $2-$3 a sheet, AND it was a FLAWLESS Macy’s INC fur collar sweater tunic I wore for literally 2 hours and paid maybe $200, she bought for $50. I complained to posh but they didn’t care. :/

darkntwisty @ren23p Thanks! There is nothing I would find remotely offensive in this book. I haven’t memorized all Dr Seuss books, lol, but I can’t see how they would be offensive. He had to write and illustrate what was fun for children to read/be read to and of course grandiose illustrations are a large beacon to keep children’s attention and make reading extra fun. There was no internet or mass media in the forties etc., a lot was left to the imagination.

darkntwisty @ren23p Certain genders not allowed to read?! Sadly that already happens in some countries where girls are bread to be married while still in grade school. We are supposed to be better. If someone doesn’t like a book, boo hoo don’t buy it, but don’t prevent the enjoyment of others. There are books on how to get away with murder, different types of poisons, bombs, anarchy, the antichrist, how to break out of jail, best way to off a spouse but no they want to prohibit dr Seuss!

stuff_for_all Just an FYI. The family of the estate and publisher are the ones who stopped producing SOME of the books, not all, only 6 titles. A few of the 6 haven’t been published in several years. There is nothing political, it was a business decision.

I don’t normally do the surveys where Posh asks us to agree or not w/reported items because it’s Posh’s job to police their own site but the day I did where I saw this listing reported a friend had told me someone we knew also had their items reported erroneously so I was trying to help her.

They are still selling for several hundred plus, EB@y favors some sellers for some reason and never block them even if something was racist tho this is not. Some on Am@zon for $700+ this very moment. So, $399 is a bargain

People also steal sold listings, screenshot the sellers photos, and try to sell an unattainable item. It’s happened to me a half a dozen times. 😡 I reported all of them and the listings were removed

darkntwisty @drebinder A bigger problem is that millions get free healthcare by not having insurance while those with insurance are denied similar care. So by being responsible and paying for insurance I have services or Rxs denied as “not covered” under my insurance plan. Literally the most screwed up healthcare “system” in the world. People go into debt or miss care. People that would recover from injuries/etc painfully die because insurance stops paying. It’s heartbreaking to experience that first hand.
