Haitian Wood Carving of Woman Carrying Burden

Category: Ethnic, Folk & Native American Art 20” H x 9” W, approximately 6 lbs Old Tropical Hard Wood Carving of Black Haitian Woman Carrying a burden as well as another item in her other hand. She is carved from one chunk of wood. She is adorned with a necklace and is wearing a dark yellow/greenish/brown dress with some lovely designs. She has beautiful corn rows in her hair and an intense gaze on her face. She definitely draws you into admire her and to wonder about her experiences. She appears to be very old and unsigned. Some finish is worn off and there are some scratches that have surely been made throughout her long life and possible travels. Overall, this piece is in very good condition for her age.
