Inherited this bag. It looks like stamped leather. It has a guitar or one side and looks like an Aztec symbol on the other. Straps are a bit worn and a scuff here and there. This bag feels like a statement piece to me. Possible Mexican influence. Would be cute for a festival or farmers market. Each side has an exterior pocket, the main compartment fully zips closed. And there is a divider in the main compartment, and also two small pockets, but large enough to even hold a large smart phone.

drhourigan Hi, cute bag! Does the bag have anything on the sides where you could clip on a different strap?

k_loni @drhourigan Thank you. I don’t see any obvious places to add a new/different strap. I would recommend taking it to a professional to have the straps repaired or replaced instead.

drhourigan @k_loni thanks for the quick reply! I truly love the bag but if I bring home another purse I may end up homeless ☺️. It wouldn’t be so bad but I made an unauthorized trip to Macy’s and Dillard’s this afternoon and bought a couple of bags, lol. Good luck, I know it’s gonna sell quick though!

wildwest07 This is most likely either a Mont Abur or a Flores Bags (Casa Flores) handbag made of genuine cowhide. These handbags were made famous from the 40s to the 70s and were sold primarily to tourists who visited Mexico. If I'm not mistaken, these handbags were made in or near Oaxaca, (pronounced like “wa-ha-ka.”) Mexico. The leather work is called hand-tooled which is a timeless craft that takes a very long time to do on each piece.
