Beautiful hand carved duck decoy from my personal collection. Features finely detailed carved feathers with a life like quality, inset glass eyes and gorgeous hand painted finish. Artist is Bill Hart, who created art for Ducks Unlimited stamps. Piece is dated 10/86. Measures 10" long x 4" tall x 4.25" wide. Excellent condition.

poshmarkjs Hi, - I was looking at your duck carving & wondering if you know where I can find info on the carver, Bill Hart? Any search I've done has brought up many articles on Bill Hart/William Hart carver who lived from the late 1880s & passed away around 1945/ish, so is certainly not 'your' Bill Hart. Do you have any ideas? I do haver a couple of decoys & like to find out their 'story' - Thanks!

joannecb @poshmarkjs This artist, Bill Hart was with the Dept of Fish and Game in Lake Tahoe, California in the 1970-1990. I think he retired to Alaska after that. He did really beautiful work as more of a hobby than a business.

poshmarkjs Hmmm; wonder if he's still here - I live in Alaska..... This carving is a beauty - a lot of carvers start as hobby then go on to enter their work into shows that feature bird carvings. Thanks for getting back to me....
