Hand Knit Merino Wool Cardigan

I designed, and then knit by hand this one-of-a-kind, button-down cardigan with the highest quality merino wool yarn from We Are Knitters. The color is bordeaux, which is exactly the right name for it, as it resembles a deep, beautiful wine color. I knit it in moss stitch which as you can see in the picture showing the button detail, almost looks like tiny little fleurs-de-lis hooked together. It’s incredibly soft and comfortable, yet the stitch is elegant, so I would also call it dressy. The wood floral buttons were purchased from Katrinkles, another handmade craft artist. This piece took about six weeks to finish. This cardigan would be a great addition to your fall/wintertime wardrobe. So warm and cozy, and merino wool is amazingly soft! The cardigans I knit by hand take many weeks to complete, plus I use some of the highest quality fibers, which are quite costly to begin with.
