Handknit Norwegian Sweater in Viking Pattern in Brown & Orange - OSFM c1970s

Handknit Norwegian Sweater in A Really Great Dramatic Geometric Stripe Patterned worked in Orange, Brown & Natural Cream 100% Wool Yarn from Hearty Norwegian Sheep. w/ Gorgeous Large Handmade Pewter Viking Ship Buttons. The Repeating Stripe Pattern is taken from the border design decorating a Viking a Shield that has been translated into a knitting stitch pattern by the Sweater's Designer who developed a series of knitting patterns based on the beautiful metalwork designs decorating Viking weapons. I happened to find a Scarf by Glyntex in the same colors and a comparable patterns that looks incredibly good with the sweater! The scarf is great worn in the neckline of the sweater! It is an Acetate MCM scarf with rolled edge in a 23" square. Made in Japan. It also happens to be in perfect condition! Both the sweater and the scarf were made in the 1970s . The colors are fabulously & fiercely Viking as well as being well suited to the time period in which they were made . This is really great Vintage combination! Terrific with brown wool pants or jeans and brown leather boots. And Brutalist Norwegian Silver Jewelry and big brown leather bag. This is warm / made for winter in Norway.
