Handmade Afghan Sweater coat upcycle woodland Mushroom crewel embroidered ooak

This has to be the coziest thing I have ever made. It started as a crocheted afghan, already super cozy due to the bubble stitching. The yarn feels like wool to me, but without a hint of scratchiness, It must be a marino or even a touch of cashmere because it is so scrumptious. I have gently washed it to felt the fibers to make this piece stronger. Using the shape of the blanket and no pattern, I created this sweater coat, added a zipper for ease of on and off, and statement sleeves and collar for a very 70s feel. The mushroom pockets are hand embroidered by me, and blanket stitched on. Due to the thickness of this piece, I took extra time to hand sew some areas that angered my machine :) Most seams are surged for extra unravel protection, but due to the felting of the wool that shouldn’t be a problem. This piece was made with lots of attention to detail, and of course love! * Not available for bundles!! Handmade item, ooak! No lowballs please, this took hours to construct and embroider.
