Handmade Brazilian Buriti Tribal Bracelet

The Buriti is a Palm Tree that originates in the state of Maranhao as well as some parts of the Amazon in Brasil. From it’s leaves the finest fibers are chosen to weave purses, bags, hats and jewelry. It is harvested unripe and later undergoes a process of drying and treatment in order to retain its qualities. The tree produces a fruit, also called the “Buriti Fruit” where the oils extracted are used to tint parts of the pieces. The specific piece possesses tribal designs.
