Handmade Gold Pearl and Rhinestone Skull - Vintage and Modern Mixed Media Art

This skull features a metallic gold base color and is adorned with vintage glass faux pearls and clear vintage rhinestones. Modern half round faux pearls provide extra details and interest to the piece. This piece comes with a clear acrylic stand for display. Our skulls are handmade from beginning to end. Each skull starts by being hand poured into a mould. Once dry it is then hand painted and sealed. Finally all the details are hand placed and secured. Each skull is crafted using a blend of new and vintage rhinestones, pearls, and gemstones. Our vintage parts are reclaimed from broken jewelry pieces that were bound for the landfill. Ancient Aztecs believed the symbol of the skull represent life: the beginning of new times, the cycle of rebirth, the seeds of life, and starting anew. In Celctic culture, the skull symbol represented the soul and power. They believed the eyes and the mouth of the skull symbol were holy spots linked to attaining wisdom and knowledge.
