Handmade rayon midi skirt worn for my husband’s military Change of Command ceremony. I got so many compliments! Made as a very novice sewer and it’s far from perfect, but still lovely to wear. One pocket was sewn too far at the opening and may only be good for keys or tissues. Top two buttons are functional, the rest is sewn shut. The herringbone gives the fabric a subtle sheen - it’s so pretty! Wrinkly from storage - can be worn ironed or not (just looks more lived-in)
Flat waist 14.5” - designed to sit at natural waist
Length 29”
** pink sweater NOT included, shown for style

Hi. I think the waist would fit me but the length and hip width seem too much and would overwhelm me as is. I’m 5’1”. Could this be taken in down the sides and shortened?
Thanks.

@christineloyle I believe so! I sewed it with a simple home sewing machine and it should be pretty easy for a professional seamstress to work with. I’ve never done alterations, so I’m not sure if the inseam pockets would need to be disassembled to take in the hip.

@georgia436 Hi. I hope you consider my offer. It’s a skirt that I’ll have to pay to have tailored to fit. And the top has the buttons sewn closed which looks ok but is slightly noticeable. Both items are very nice. And that is how I based my offer.
