Handmade Upcycled Assemblage Art to Wear Necklace Frozen Charlotte Doll J701 This is a convertible necklace I made a few years ago. It is assemblage art, an art form that incorporates bits and pieces of various materials. The doll used here is a very old broken frozen Charlotte doll attached to an antique gold tone belt buckle with amethyst purple color accents. On the bottom you'll find a little dangle with matching purple color beads. The pendant is attached to the chain necklace with a lobster claw, so you can remove it and wear the three strand, gold color chain with faux pearl chain alone if you'd like or attach the pendant to whatever you want. Necklace is 32" long. About Frozen Charlotte Dolls: The dolls had been made in Germany in the late 1800's. When the factory had "oops" dolls, they would be tossed in buckets and later dumped into holes dug in the ground. The factories are long gone and a few yeas ago I ran into a listing selling these. Some people in Germany would go to the site of the factories and dig up veins of the various porcelain dolls and such. They would dig up, clean and sell these. I fell in love with them and have a few art pieces left that I had made with them. I hope you find them as interesting as I do. Please view photos in the listing for a visual representation of this items condition. They are an important part of the description. The item pictured is the exact item you will receive.

gladtidingschic Well, this is an interesting piece. Didn’t know about the buried dolls.

laurieahroy @gladtidingschic, Assemblage art is a very interesting thing. For the most part I think it’s something people really like or really dislike. I like it 🙂
