kellygirltx @andine -- Hi ! These are Vitex Lilacs (Chaste Tree). We LOVE these. They die back in winter & do this spectacular thing by mid-May every year with no help! ;))) they really take the heat too !! Thank You! ;-)))

kellygirltx @andine -I love Salvia, but..it doesn't love me ! LoL. You cld order these possibly? Just a tidbit. A&M Univ horticulture dept here in TX developed this Vitex Lilac specifically to take the heat/drought in Tx. They did an amazing feat!! They have a list of A&M SuperStar plants that we cldnt enjoy...that now we can. Can you grow the regular Lilacs there? ;))

whimsylizzy @kellygirltx love the blooms! I just started a small garden last year and look forward to gardening and flowers blooming in the late spring. I'm a true Texan gal living in the NorthEast so spring blooming comes a bit late for us. But when the flowers bloom and the trees no longer look skeleton, wow just wow! kellygirltx @ary1211 - where do you live? State? This is St. Augustine grass. Once you get it started, it takes off like a rocket. I fertilize my lawn with triple 13 lawn fertilizer by Scotts once a spring/summer and cut regulary (keeps it healthy) & water in drought. You CAN have a green lawn pretty easy. 😊😊Thank You!! I'm an outdoor person & crave natural beauty.

kellygirltx @ary1211 --I can't sleep, I'm up doing late laundry😳, lol. The roots are still there most likely. A $10 sprinkler & it will come back. Just FYI. I couldn't live with dead grass. ary1211 Nice to meet you too I have a good sprinkler maybe I just need to water it more often the front isn't bad it's my back yard I think it's because there's a lot of weeds :-( ... Lol I have never been there. I am actually originally from Chicago but here I am in Texas now. I live in Killeen for now until my husband is done with his degree but we plan on staying in Texas not a bad place lol

kellygirltx 😊Ha! I'm an old Illinois girl myself! Born & raised in Carlinville. I have cousins that are still in Chicago and my family still lives in C'ville. I moved here at 22 and been here ever since. I'm 48. I love Texas, I DO miss the changing seasons tho, very much. I lived in San Antonio, Austin, Georgetown (12yrs) and now here. Killeen does NOT have the prettiest terrain to look at honestly. You have to drive a long, long way to get to any real scenery. LoL. I like East Tx and Big Bend. The rest of Tx is flat & lots hard rock & cedar trees. LoL I still drive to Austin ev month to see my Neurologist. My 18 yo DD is in Florence Tx & my 21 yo DD moved to NYC a year ago. My nest is empty.😜

ary1211 I have been in Texas for 3 years ( well in August) already came here after going to Korea( military not vacation lol). I am out already but we decided to stay here for school and we are planning to move around the Dallas area but we are considering Austin as well... There is pretty much nothing here in killeen lol. We don't have a garden :-( we aren't allowed to plant anything there is rose bushes in the front of the house those are blooming but don't last long :-( lol. I have two little myself but they r small they are 2 and 1 lol so they r stuck with me for a long time lol

kellygirltx @classy81 --These are Vitex Lilac shrubs. They were made for drought & hot, hot weather. The Tx A&M Horticulture Dept has a "SuperStar" list of flowering shrubs & plants designed to bloom in our weather. Baking Hot!! Lol Thank You! I do enjoy my blooming plants!!

makeupartist01 I love your garden. It's gorgeous! I'm a seamstress, but my hubby is a landscape/pool contractor and we own a nursery. So besides all things old, I love new growing greenery. It's just a reminder of how small we are in the grand scheme of things. Beautiful.
