Starbucks Korea Hunminjeongum tumbler 473ml * About "Hunminjeongeum" - Korean Script On 23rd of December, in the 23rd year when King Sejong's rule of Joseon, the Korean script was created for the first time and make all verbal system of Korean language available same as in written script. This 28 character-based writing system was dubbed "Hunminjeongeum. " Bearing the same name, this book was published in the 26th year of Sejong (1446) having as its content an explanation of Hunminjeongeum and examples of spelling. Hunminjeongeum, the Korean script, is now referred to as "Hangeul," and the book Hunminjeongeum is sometimes also called Hunminjeongeumhaeryebon. Along with the presentation of 28 letters, the rules of the writing system, the explanations and examples by scholars who fathered the script, the book contains King Sejong's statement explaining the background behind and goals in creating Hunminjeongeum. This book was included in UNESCO's Memory of the World Register in 1997.
