The interchangeable buckle flap has 2 different snap settings. On the larger snap setting, the belt measures 39 inches.

@donnaratliff You need a buckle appropriate for an interchangeable belt. Such a buckle has a sort of raised hinge on the back. One slips the hinge over the snaps. Then the snapped end is folded over and secured by snapping it onto its snap mate. There are two different snaps to choose from (see photo) so as to make the belt slightly longer or shorter by about an inch. Hope this explanation helps. If you've never worn an interchangeable buckle belt, I understand the process might seem new.
