I ended up changing dresses before my wedding, and am selling the beautiful first option that was never worn, a Blush by Hayley Paige Delta Gown, tan/ivory, purchased in a size 8 but tailored to fit more like a 6/large 4. It was purchased from Sash & Bustle in Toronto, and will ship still in its protective garment bag.
Some custom tailoring was done to the dress: C cup inserts were added en lieu of wearing a bra. It was tailored slightly to fit me (5’4.5″) in a 3.25″ heel, and I am more of a 4-6 in pant size so the waist was brought in a little bit. I also changed the back slightly to remove the lace butterfly in favour of a more elegant, timeless crossed straps as you can see in the photos.
I had a veil custom made that matches the dress with a beautiful piped border, I can add in that for free as a gift.

Good evening. Are the photos of you in the dress after alterations, please? It seems so bc the butterfly is gone in those photos, but I'm just trying to confirm that the beading on the skirt now is as it appears there, after alterations were complete. Thanks so much for your time!

@azaleed Yes I certainly can! I'll upload a photo with the measuring tape included so that you can see. This was a truly beautiful dress, it just didn't fit my venue, so I'm so hoping that a bride will be able to wear it for the first time. I hope that it works for you!

@azaleed It's my pleasure! I took the dress out (it's SO pretty, and I still have the veil that you can have for free) and took the measurement and it looks like 36cm across the waist hem from seam to seam? I've never taken measurements before so I also uploaded a photo, and I'm happy to take more measurements if you'd like!

@stephaniemaris That's perfect, thank you. Do you recall how the shortening of the skirt was achieved, please? Did they take the length from the bottom, or did they detach the skirt and lift it up by shortening the bodice/raising the waistline?

@stephaniemaris Thanks so much for the offer. I appreciate it, but it's not necessary. My most common issue with fit in anything is that I have a long torso. I'm 5'7", but I avoid heels at all costs. So, I'm not concerned about overall length. Very often, dresses with a skirt that should begin at the natural waist hit me too high, more like an empire waist, on my ribcage...

...I can see in photos that the point where the shoulder strap attaches to the bodice hits you higher near your shoulder than it does on the runway model. Naturally, bc you are more petite. Often, a tailor will lift a skirt at the waist rather than trim length from the bottom for a petite client in order to create a shorter bodice and the correct proportions for their build. I can def lengthen the straps to drop the neckline & waist...

I agree, actually, based on the beading pattern in stock photos that it does look like they may have left the bodice length in tact. I'm going to sleep on it a bit to be sure there's nothing I'm forgetting. Either way, it's just gorgeous and no doubt looks amazing doing spins on the dance floor in that skirt!

@azaleed Hi! It is my pleasure, I know what a big decision this is so please take all the time you need :) It's an incredibly beautiful gown, and the sparkles when you spin are breathtaking. We ended up having an outdoor wedding at a polo club here in Hawaii so I opted for something simpler. I will admit that when I pulled the gown out this week I felt a twinge of regret that I didn't get to wear it, haha 🤍
