missina79 It's a bean pot! They make the BEST baked beans when you bake them in one of these! I really want to get another one but yours looks like it has the same issue that mine, (and most of the ones that I have seen,) has. Which is, the lid has a tiny, flat knob, making it almost impossible to take the lid off, (especially while it is in the oven,) using a hot pot holder because there is literally no room to grab onto it. But they are almost all made this way!

june_cleaver @missina79 Interesting history. This was my grandmothers. Her family came over on the Mayflower. I am going to have to ask my dad about the history of this to find out more. Had no idea it was a bean pot :)

missina79 @june_cleaver I got my bean pot from my grandmother too! We have only been here for five generations, so not as long as the Mayflower! And my great grand parents came here from Iceland, so different boats, lol!
