Actual shoes pictured Made in Italy From the original description: “PRECIOUS SKINS (alligator, crocodile and lizard) Rare and highly valued leathers, crocodile, alligator and lizard are characterised by their scales which, just like human fingerprints, give them a unique quality. Selected for their distinctive appear-ance, these leathers are given two different types of finishes depending on the desired effect: smooth leathers are achieved by smoothing the scales with agate stone. These leathers are called "aniline", borrowed from the name of the process used to colour them; - matte leathers are the result of mechanically felting the scales using woollen felt rollers. These leathers are called "plongé", as they are coloured beforehand using a method of immersion. These finishes, known as "transparent", have been chosen for their ability to enhance colours and preserve the natural appearance of the skins. Very sensitive to water, humidity and light, crocodile, alligator and lizard leathers require special care.
