Palladium-plated hardware and snap closure. Snaps on both sides to expand/retract. Some fading, minor rubbing, and the little leather tab on interior zip pull came off. No pen or makeup explosions have taken place inside. I have 3 other color versions of these—they are the best totes for grocery and Home Depot runs and going to the farmers market. They are incredible, substantial, hearty totes that you know you can stuff and know they are not going to tear or stretch to oblivion.
