Packaging states that this dual functioning iron features thin plates of tourmaline designed especially for curling purposes and generates 6X more negative ions than the regular ceramic iron. Breakthrough technology uses tourmaline ceramic plates for a long lasting result. This iron can be used on any type or texture hair. It's lightweight to fit your travel needs. Iron is 1 1/4" wide when 2 plates are pressed together. It is 10 1/4" long from plates to swiveling cord. A standard 110-120v outlet is required. Has on/off switch and red LED light to indicate it's in the "on" position. This iron was purchased in 2008 and never used, due to move/relocation. Just retrieved it from storage. Plugged it in to check. Heats up really fast, like seconds. Great item.
