I think next I'll start Ann Leckie's newest, Provenance. (I'm a huge sci-fi/fantasy nerd, but I'll read almost anything.) Have you read anything good lately?

citybellecloset @msaleahmarie I’m sorry that I never replied! i had a bout of pneumonia (not fun!) — so I’m catching up on missed comments now! I haven’t read the ‘Wayward Children’ series yet! Do you recommend them? I’ve been enjoying a reread of the ‘Unfortunate Event’ series in alignment with the Netflix series. I’m currently reading ‘Tiger Lily’ with a friend. I enjoy some science fiction too! I’m open to all genres for the most part! Have you read, ‘The Bear and the :Nightingale’ yet? That was terrific!

msaleahmarie @citybellecloset Yuck! I hope you're feeling better! Wayward Children reads a lot like a teen novel, so it focuses more on the characters and their relationships than the world building. And they're short, novellas really. So, yes, if you are okay with those things I definitely recommend them. I've enjoyed them! I read The Bear and the Nightingale as an advanced reader copy and adored it! I've read the 2nd book in that series as well. Amazing work from a new author!

msaleahmarie @citybellecloset If you liked Bear and the Nightingale you might also enjoy Uprooted by Naomi Novik. Both have a fairy tale vibe with a strong female protagonist. I'm off to look up Tiger Lily to see what that one's about!

openmindfashion I’m reading Zoutine (sp—not in front of me right now) by Eggers (I think I got his last name right) now—nonfiction (rarely my first choice) about a family in Hurricane Katrina right now. Will be back for fiction recc’s! 📚😊❤️

msaleahmarie @openmindfashion Thank you for playing! Okay, so if it's the subject of Hurricane Katrina that you find compelling you might try "Salvage the Bones" by Jesmyn Ward. She won the National Book Award for that one. Or if you're more into the lyrical writing style and diverse characters of "Zeitoun" give "Lowland" by Jhumpa Lahiri a go. I haven't read "Lowland" yet, but I did read "The Namesake" years ago and looooved it.

msaleahmarie @poshyshae Thank you so much! I just share my listings to move them to the top of my closet. I'll share them in sections, like dresses all at once. Share from the bottom of the section up to the top so they stay in the right order. And then I always share my new arrivals last so that it'll stay at the top. Is that what you were asking about?
