I'm Anna, a New Yorker, boy mom to two incredible boys and an aspiring boutique owner. After living in Portugal for two years, I gained a huge appreciation for artisan goods and sustainable fashion. Hence the name of my closet, Artesão, which means "artisan" in Portuguese. I'm all about championing slow fashion, artisanal traditions and are sustainable production. conn3e In that last picture, are you in Thailand? I went there when I was 13 and my mom made my brother and I wear those traditional hmong outfits so she can take pictures of us. 😁 you look stunning in your wedding dress btw! ☺

artesao_nyc @conn3e good eye! Yes, that's in northern Thailand. My hubby and I went to see some of the hillside tribes. This particular one is called the Yao hill tribe and they originated in China. I love Thailand. One one my favorite places in the world 😊

Are there any brands that you have found that have really stood out to you that you like? I'm still on the hunt :)

artesao_nyc @dlzbth Hi Dee! It's so nice to meet you! I've also been looking for sustainable, ethical fashion brands and am beginning to work with some. Two that I'd mention are: Atid, which is ethically made by women in LA (I'm selling their tees and dresses, which are 100% cotton and thus are biodegradable blended fabric takes longer to biodegrade) and another is Ketzali, which is an accessories brand that employs artisans in Guatemala to create beautiful handmade stuff from recycled fabric.

tezza630 Ah!! Rob (husband) is not from there - his great-grandparents were - he is from Indiana. 😉😉 But he's got that dark hair & skin that tans in minutes, lol! I suspect then that you are fluent in Portuguese? - I do wish I had more knowledge of a 2nd language. I can find a beer & the bathroom in Spanish, & then thank them for it. lol! We just found out there is a Portuguese restaurant in Louisa (50 min away) called "Obrigado"! Can't wait to go. (Cont - 😡😡 500 character limit.....)

tezza630 Lol, trust me, everyone misspells my name! - My given name is Teresa, my mother didn't like "Teri" with an "e" so decided on Tari. But even Siri changes me to "Atari" (lol!) or Tart! And everyone calls me Tara or pronounces it "Tarry" rather than Terri. To complicate things more, my last name is Meredith, so I have two first names and I get called Meredith! Oy! Tezza is my Australian nickname given by friends from there. I pretty much answer to anything! 😂😂💚😽

Speaking of last names, my married name is Machado and everyone gets it so wrong - like I get Muscato, Macchiato and Maldonado most often. It's like people see the "M" and the "o" and just fill in the blanks 😜

Yep, very Portuguese, don't you think? 😜 As to the colorful artesan bracelets and earrings, they are very pretty - they remind me of sprees candy, lol! They feel so cool (temperature) and smooth to the touch. I have a necklace and three other bracelets that I am keeping. Let's just say I got carried away. 'Nuf said! 😉💚😽

That is hilarious! Funny thing about the name Pine - his mother's side is quite short - MIL is just 4'10". One of his uncle's, also named Robert, wasin the marines - his nickname was "Stump", as in short as in tree as in pine........ Names! who knew they could be such a hoot!? xxx 💚😽

thriftyflaire Hi seeetie. I wanted to let you know there was a postage issue with the hat you ordered. I dropped at post office last evening and it was returned to my doorstep this afternoon saying postage was due. I used a priority box like I always do, so I sent poshmark a note to let them know and I have repacked in a different box and will drop off early AM. Sorry for they delay!!!! I hope you love it when it gets there!

thriftyflaire @artesao_nyc I got an email too. As I mentioned last Thursday/Friday, it did get returned and I repackaged and resent. It hasn’t come back a second time. I wonder if poshmark is running behind in notices since I didn’t get one last week:) I will respond to the one I got saying it was resent and keep fingers crossed. Thanks for your patience as this is crazy and has never happened to me before😩
