They are smooth and smoothing, the fabric feels like a work from home legging material but it doesn't look that way so you can easily wear this into an office or dress them up or WFH. There is an elastic waistband you can see in the pictures. Never worn, they were just too large in the waist for me. The seaming on them and look are so good, I kept them in my wardrobe hoping they would fit but just never wore them. Depending on your height they could work well with heels, loafers or sneakers.
