Fred Fallin (b. 1940) was the “Voice of the Ukulele”. A ukulele soloist and musicologist from Chicago, IL, he was a life-long musician and ukulele enthusiast, playing ukulele professionally since the 1950s, Fred also had a career as a teacher before retiring in 1994 and spending his time playing and promoting the love of uke. Fred made annual trips to Hawaii, playing in clubs, in the Don Ho show, and even a one-man show at the Bishop Museum in Honolulu. He performed with Don Ho, the legendary Tiny Tim, Leselie Nunes, Danny Scanlon, and Alfredo Canopin. He was also a personal friend of the Kamaka Family, the famous ukulele makers of Hawaii. He was a fixture at every mainland Ukulele Festival where he performed his collection of vaudeville and Tin Pan Alley songs. Fred Fallin passed in October of 2021. We are proud to be able to offer some select pieces from his personal collection.
