Holly Hobbie Collector Plate: "Count Your Blessings... not your troubles" message on white, 14k gold rimmed 8" ceramic plate. The plate is scallop edged and has decorative cutouts. Made in Japan circa 1973. Denise Holly Hobbie is an American writer, water colorist and illustrator. In the late 1960's, Mrs. Hobbie sold her designs of a cat loving, little girl (taking the name Holly Hobbie) in a giant bonnet to American Greetings. The art, in a rustic style of bygone New England, was based on Hobbie's own children. Although it is 50 years old, this plate is in excellent condition. No cracks, chips or crazing.
