An adorable set of vintage ceramic Holt Howard Rooster Egg Cups. A great rooster design on both sides of the cup - so whichever way you sit them, your rooster will always be right-side up. The color in these are still very vibrant. Made in Japan in 1961, and marked on the underneath side. Size: about 3 ¾ inches tall. Diameter on one end is 2 ¾ inches Condition: Exceptionally good condition for age, and no chips or cracks. Some crazing in the glaze, consistent with age. A fabulous set for your own use, collection, or as a gift. Trivia: Collecting egg cups is a popular hobby called pocillovy, derived from the Latin pocillium ovi (“little cup for an egg”).
