Hummel #63 “Singing Lesson” TMK 5 Interested?? I am open to all offers, I read and reply to each one, and am generally easy to work with! This figurine is 2.75" tall and has no cracks, mars or blemishes, it is in MINT Condition. However, it does have crazing on the bottom (see pix). The trademark (#5 Last Bee) places the manufacture of this piece Circa 1972-79. First created by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1937 from one of Sister Maria’s drawings. It has been called both “Duet” and “Critic”. Sister Maria had a love of children, and a whimsical nature, sketching them in various situations. This young boy has his flute (lute?) in hand while he seems to be lecturing a bird on music. Or is the bird showing him? Whichever, this is a cute piece and has not lost its appearance for over 50 years. What a tribute to the abilities of both Sister Maria and the artists at the Goebel factory!
