This is my 12 pointer, by far the biggest buck I have ever got. Bear hunting was a crazy and an amazing experience. And that is the first doe I ever shot while bow hunting!!

taydkru @ashlei_marie333 my 12 pointer was the morning after opening day 2 years ago. So it was mid November. I wish there would have been snow. Haha I love hunting in the snow. You get a lot more snow where you are from though. I'm pretty far south of you.

mugen I've never understood the point in hunting for fun.. For food and a way to survive I understand, but not for fun. It just seems cruel and unnecessary. Animals hunt to eat, never because they find it fun or because they're bored. And yet humans think just because they can and have the weapons to that they have the right to take the life of these beautiful animals for fun. Not for food, but to hang their head on a wall as a trophy. That's just not right.. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude or anything. I am an animal lover. And bears are one of my favorite animals.. So seeing this kinda made me sad :'( any way, you have a different opinion about it and that's okay. I just won't ever understand it.

taydkru @mugen no problem at all. I understand people judge me all the time for it. I would never shoot an animal I wasn't going to eat. And I would much rather kill an animal quickly while hunting than having them hit by cars. I hunt for meat and herd control. Also for crop damage. Farmers losing money due to too many animals in the area. Yes I enjoy the sport. And knowing what is in my meat since we process all our own rather than buying meat from a store. I too am an animal lover as I raised a fawn that had a broken leg that got hit by a car and her mother was killed by getting hit by a car. So yes I see the need for hunting.

jlobie I too hunt, and I too would never shoot anything I wasn't going to eat. Hunting for your food is a million times better in SO MANY WAYS than what they do to the animals they package up and put in Wal-Mart... My motto is at least the ones I am hunting have a chance in the matter and we all work hard for them. Those poor cows/chickens in the store spend their life in a cage they can't even walk around in and are pumped with growth hormones and then beat to death (most of the time). Hunting is not something people to do for the fun of killing something, they do it to feed their family and we respect the animals entirely because they feed us. We deserve to have them up on your wall afterwards because we work our ass off to get them, that is much better than throwing them in the garbage (or wherever they go) after they are slaughtered. Not to mention much healthier for you than store bought meat and one more thing... A lot of deer are killed by cougars and coyotes when winter hits. It is all the circle of life. Sorry to butt in but @mugen I wanted to help you feel a little better about the situation, hope it helped. :) @taydkru that is GORGEOUS buck by the way!!!!!

jlobie No prob. ;) It is a good feeling. I have hunted since I was old enough to shoot a high powered rifle and went out with my dad even before that. Was taught at a young age that is isn't okay to even shoot a tweety bird if you aren't going to eat it. Lol people have this idea that hunters are complete cruel monsters. (which I can understand to an extent) that is why I do my best to educate people on what is REALLY

karateemily615 * I am so jealous of your Matthew! I want the jewel so bad! I have a pink camo youth bow made by Bear and I love it but the jewel is a sight to see! Btw your bear is awesome too! I'm scared to go bear hunting after my boyfriends shot wasn't a kill shot and the bear charged him! He's ok but I refuse! :P did you do now or shotgun for it?

jillybean0712 @taydkru My hubby was hunting up north and had 2 wolves come close enough he could see the yellow eyes. The rest of the pack was down by a river a little ways away. After the 2 ran off up meet up with the rest of the pack, he remembered he had to climb out of the tree to get to the road. He was freaking out but said that they were amazing to see. Another hunt on the bucket list!!

alikaiser I am a vegetarian. But I get frustrated when people bash hunters. I was raised by a hunter, and I am raising hunters. I just never liked meat, but I don't think "anti-hunters" have an educated understanding of hunters. God provided animals for us for food and clothing. True sportsmen enjoy it because they are immersed in nature and are able to provide food for their families and even clothing. They are passionate about it for these reasons and 99% of hunters have a deep respect and love for nature. You aren't out their crazy eyed, drooling, and shooting at anything that moves. And it also comes down to population control. If all if you quit hunting, how would these "animal lovers" like to hit one with their car every other day? That can result in a much more slow and painful death. The animals have to compete more for food as well. I just think it is disrespectful to criticize someone for how they live and the way they choose to feed their families. You just keep doing your thing!!!
