A family member donated this fur jacket in hope that I'd earn some extra cash. I honestly have no experience with fur jackets. I need your guidance! Very long and heavy but it's got no tags, came with "KLJ" monogram inside side of jacket. It's got two ribbons, what's that for? Got 4 hooks to close the jacket. Bottom part I think needed to be sewed together. Smell like basement, should I take it to dry cleaning? So many questions! Here I welcome your guidance! Thanks in advance!

sarainsalem How I'd know what it is...Rabbit? Bear? Maybe I should call I.J.Fox? Their website isn't too helpful.

lerobot Hey lady! Nice fur! First of all it looks to be a soft fur like fox or rabbit. The fur is nothing harsh like mink or bear. I'm thinking fox since the label but unfortunately it doesn't look like fox I normally see so I'm not 100%. Do you happen to have the means to ask your family members if they know the origin of the coat or fur type? Any info can't hurt! The ribbons are there for tieing to suspenders- old style haha. Also the bottom of the lining of the coat aren't sewed sometimes just left like that so it's probably meant to be like that. And the monogram sewed letters can be taken out incase a potential buyer is curious ! Easy fix. It's a nice stroller coat full length so alot of fur, seems to be in good condition too! If rabbit avg price would be around 200$ for a vintage re sale nowadays. However if fox could go up to around 5-600 average. I'd price it around 4 if I found out it was fox or around 150 if rabbit but that'd just be for a quicker sale and keep in mind it's worth more. Let me know if you find any more info!

sarainsalem Wow useful infos, thank you! Look like I have some homework to do. Good to know the monogram can be un-stitched and you're right, it does make sense if it's fox. I'll ask my family member where she got it, I have a feeling it was being donated from those fancy houses she does home-cleaning business with. Kinda like someone got divorced or something, love story went bad? I can try to do Reiki on it and set off a good vibes maybe haha. I'll follow up with you. THANK you for your time! @lerobot

altima2013 @sarainsalem Hi Hun !! Fur coat u can't take to the Cleaners u have to take it to a Furrier to clean and always store it in cold place .. If u do it will cost u .. But u may sale it for much more on E-bay :)

sarainsalem Wow your guidance is valuable, thank you! @altima2013 I drove by Furries and saw that they clean and store fur jackets. If they're pricey and if I sell it to a lovely home maybe it's worth it? Ebay really! Saw that they sell some successfully and some are not so. I think I'm getting to somewhere, thank you!

pattyjune8 If its beaver, it's worth a lot more than fox! Have you spoken to the Furrier about it yet. He/she should be able to give you add'l. info!! Good luck! Don't sell til ur sure of everything!
